Is dialysis scary? With you by my side, it's not!

Is dialysis scary? With you by my side, it's not!

Renal Patient, Premalatha
I come here, I am very happy, today I want to see my friends, I want to see my Tzu Chi people

You don't believe you're strong, do you? I'm strong after seeing you. Very good, cheer up, believe in yourself!

Different games and booths allowed volunteers and renal patients to interact with each other. 63 patients and their family members, accompanied by volunteers, participated in the annual Renal Friends Gathering at the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre.

It’s when you feel that you don’t have control over the things that you experiencing right now, that’s why stress occurred.

In previous years, the content of the gathering was focused on teaching renal patients how to eat properly, but this year, the planning team focused on mental health, with a psychologist on site to share stress relief techniques and guide patients to face life in a positive way.

Renal Patient, Gan Ah Chap
My life was hell at the beginning. And today, I am a happy-go-lucky person, I am so happy to see all of you here!

Meeting patients who are facing the same situation, encouraging and cheering each other up, filled with positive energy.

Renal Patient, Jasilah
We make more friends, so we can encourage one another, we can listen (to) what (they are stressed about), they can share with us, so we understand

Renal Patient, Gan Ah Chap
Tzu Chi volunteers who have been visiting me every month to boost my morale, every time I receive the blessings from them, my heart and my spirit went up

The flashing lights illuminate the blessings and wishes on the tree, just like the support and care from family members and volunteers, lighting up the lives of kidney patients and making this dialysis path no longer lonely.
